John C. and Ada Lou Wood Smith

John Clark Smith, known as “Singing John” because he led the singing at Mars Hill Church of Christ, was born September 4, 1859, the son of William Rollins and Mary A. Smith.  His wife, Ada Lou Wood Smith, was born April 29, 1862.  Pictured with them are three of their daughters, Beulah, Marcella, and Rubie (top to bottom).  Not pictured are daughters Maggie (mother of Lester Campbell) and Viola.  Ada died in 1905; John died in 1940.
