Fred and Maudie Mathews

Fred Ellis Mathews, son of Charles Henry and Celestia Ann Bromley Mathews, was born May 13, 1894, and died May 15, 1948.  His wife, Maudina Rosina Butler Mathews, was the daughter of John Anderson and Sarah Ann Lucy Summers Butler.  She was born November 17, 1891, and died April 12, 1972.  They had two children, Joseph Edgar Mathews and Edna Lavirl Mathews Campbell Dalton.  Fred and Maudie taught in several schools in both Hopkins and Delta County.
