Newt and Delia Gilpin

Newton Jasper Gilpin, son of James Bond and Martha C. Pettus Gilpin, was born January 27, 1861.  He first married Sarah Atchley Sheppard, daughter of Jefferson C. and Martha Deckard Atchley and widow of S. S. Sheppard.   After her death in 1900, he married Frances Adelia Harrison Rudy, daughter of Alex and Francis Radney Harrison and widow of E. H. Rudy.  She had two children, Jewel and Ezra Rudy.    Newt and Delia had a son, Eris Gilpin.   Delia was born January 19, 1871, and she died September 1, 1950.  Newt died January 2, 1928.  He operated a store in the Brinker community, and the community switchboard was on their property.
