Valder Chaddick
Valder Odell Chaddick, born August 2, 1919, was the son of Amos Lafayette and Calona Hazeltine Owens Chaddick. Nicknamed “Shorty,” he played football for Sulphur Springs and attended college on a football scholarship, finishing after a stint as a pilot in World War II. He was a teacher and football coach. He and his wife Mary Landrum had three children, Valder Jr., Mary, and Billy. He died June 25, 1963.
